Toasted.
The story begins with an ordinary toaster, which you probably also have in your home kitchen. But instead of toasted bread, the young industrial designers, Nina Mršnik and Nuša Jelenec, melted waste plastic in the toaster. Yes, you read that right.
Nuša and Nina wanted to create their own material, with the philosophy of reuse, from which they would make a desk. They needed a table for a sales exhibition of products by young Slovenian designers called 'Pop-Up dom'. It is 2013, when an experiment with a toaster gives rise to a new, innovative material - baked plastic... And Toasted begins to emerge from it.
Countless attempts later, today we can offer you products that command attention wherever they appear. Because they are Toasted. Funky products created out of concern for the environment. Toasted. From scrap to baked plastic. Toasted. From baked plastic to original products. Toasted. Useful and beautiful. Toasted. Relentlessly functional and artistically relentless. Toasted. How crazy good is that?
Today, Toasted no longer uses a toaster in the home kitchen, but a machine that we developed and perfected with the aim of being able to create the best possible products from our own materials. Meet ‘The Machine'!
Toasted challenges uniqueness and sends durable, noticeable and fun pieces into the world that make an impression. All Toasted products are handcrafted and no two products are identical. We also promise that Toasted will never bore you.
