Table for Ada and Jurij - interview

INTERIOR

Ada and Jurij are our friends and sometimes our coworkers. We made a table for their family.

Why did you choose our table?

"We just fell in love with it the first time we saw it. We see it as a very humorous and funky piece, with a plastic imitation of terrazzo and a collage appearance... I (Jurij), as a designer, also appreciated its simple, honest yet very smart construction. We also figured the material would be durable and easy to clean, and that's indeed the case."

Do you use it daily?

"We used to. It's at our summer house now, so we use it when we're there."

What do you like most about it?

"It's just such a pleasure to look at. And to use. We're big fans of round dining tables, as they accommodate different numbers of people much more easily than rectangular ones and also bring them together in a special, equal way."

How does the material perform as a table surface - did it scratch / any other observations?

"It's great! Not showing any signs of use, very easy to maintain, pleasant to the touch…"

Did you have any concerns about using a table that is made from trash?

"We don't think so, seems okay to us. It's been thermally processed, and HDPE is pretty inert to my knowledge."

Do you see yourself possibly using other products made from this material?

"Oh hell yeah, already got a couple of ideas planned, first of which is a bathroom counter and some other bathroom furniture. I think it makes sense to use it in humid, damp spaces where other materials would not perform as well or would deteriorate faster."
