WHERE ARE YOUR PRODUCTS PRODUCED?

Our products are handmade in Europe (not so many weavers can be found in Europe these days), more specifically in Visoko, Bosnia at Ms. Lejla’s workshop.

ARE THERE SPECIFIC TREATMENTS
FOR YOUR PRODUCTS?

Our chief weaver Lejla taught us the following about how to clean a Kilim best: it can be vacuum-cleaned but it should never be washed in a washing machine or even be soaked in water. The colours that we use are natural, so they wash off if we use water in abundance. Best is to take a cloth or sponge and moist it with a mixture of cold water and vinegar and gently clean the kilim. Never use any chemicals to wash your kilim! If you just spilled something on it, then press on the spill with a cloth to absorb the liquid. If there is some dried residue on your kilim, use a brush to scrub it gently and then vacuum the loosen residue. Turn around your kilims from time to time,
to equalise wear.

CAN YOU MAKE A CUSTOM PRODUCT?

Absolutely yes. Our weavers work on looms where they can make kilims or rugs that are up to 200x 300 cm big. But we do a lot of bigger sizes kilims or rugs by seamlessly combining more pieces together. Please, write us an email
to ciao@kobeiagikilims.com, to discuss this in detail.
